CODE OF CONDUCT

Dancer Code of Conduct

  • Dancers are expected to attend class and be punctual.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your class so that you are prepared.

  • Any student arriving late must check in at the front desk, at which point they will be escorted to their

    class. They will wait until the exercise is finished before entering the class. Please enter the studio

    quickly and quietly so as not to disrupt the class.

  • After the ten minutes, the class is closed and no late entry is permitted.

  • There should not be any bathroom breaks during class. Please use the facilities prior to class.

  • No outdoor shoes in school waiting area or dance studios. Please keep the shoes in the front

    entrance tidy. Clean indoor shoes are required for all Hip Hop classes.

  • No running in the studios, touching mirrors or hanging off the barres.

  • Dancers must be dressed in proper attire for every class. Ballet Montreal uniform requirements must be met. Including proper leotard and ballet tights, with no visible underwear.

  • Hair must be in a ballet bun for all Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary classes and pulled back off the

    face for all other classes. No hair donuts or scrunchies.

  • No jewelry, except for small earrings, should be worn during dance classes. Students will be asked

    to remove necklaces, bracelets and rings prior to entering class.

  • No food is allowed in the Dance Studios. Water bottles are allowed and encouraged.

  • Theft of any kind at the dance studio will result in immediate dismissal.

  • No gum is allowed in the studio at any time.

  • Label all belongings and leave all valuables at home. Ballet Montreal cannot be held responsible for

    any lost or missing belongings. Please check the lost and found box regularly as all items will be

    donated after a certain length of time.

  • We encourage all of our students to work hard and try hard, and be the best dancer that they can be!

Parent Code of Conduct

  • Communicate regularly with the school. Ensure that reception has an accurate email contact and that you are receiving regular emails.

  • Ensure that the student attends class regularly, in clean uniform and on time.

  • Please assist young dancers to use the bathroom before class begins.

  • Inform the school promptly about absences or late arrivals.

  • Ensure to pick up students no more than 15 minutes after class ends.

  • Encourage and help child to follow the student code of conduct.

  • Do not interrupt classes while in progress.

  • Ballet Montreal is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please leave all valuables at home.

  • Do not take photos or videos of dance classes in progress.
